How to use italic text

Italic reads as a quieter emphasis than bold: good for a subtitle, a quote, or a tone shift. There's also a sans-serif italic if the serif version feels too formal. As with all of these, lean on italics for short spans โ€” a phrase, not an essay.

FAQ

Is there a sans-serif italic too?

Yes โ€” the generator includes both a serif italic and a cleaner sans italic. Try both and copy whichever fits the vibe of your profile.

Why is the italic 'h' a different shape?

Unicode reserves the italic small h (โ„Ž, Planck's constant) in a separate block, so it's substituted in automatically to keep the word complete.

Does italic text work on every letter and number?

Not all of them. In this generator, capital and small letters all convert, but numbers have no italic form and stay plain.
